Description
Timothy, the eldest, volunteered with the �General�s Guard� during the battle of Connecticut Farms (present day Union, New Jersey).
His mother even strapped his father�s sword around his waist before he left.
Timothy was shot twice in the thigh during a skirmish with Hessian soldiers.
Brought home after the battle he recovered and in the fall of 1780 attended the College of New Jersey, today�s Princeton University. All three Ford boys eventually graduated from the College of New Jersey.
