dc.descriptionPrior to becoming High Point State Park this land was the private summer estate of Colonel Anthony R Kuser and his wife Susie Dryden. Mr. Kuser was a successful business executive while his wife Susie Dryden was the daughter of U.S. Senator and Prudential Insurance founder John Fairfield Dryden. In 1922 they donated their High Point summer estate to the State of New Jersey for the creation of a new State Park in Sussex County. As a result of their donation, High Point State Park was dedicated in 1923 in Montague Township.
