dc.description | At the southeastern corner of the historic Morristown Green is the nearly 50-foot-tall Morris County Civil War Monument, which went up in 1871, only six years after the war�s end. The monument includes an obelisk topped by a Civil War soldier. Battles involving Morris County soldiers are listed on the sides of the monument, including Atlanta, Ft. Donelson, Cold Harbor, Shiloh, Wilderness, Malvern Hill, Roanoke, Winchester, Gettysburg, Antietam, Vicksburg and Appomattox. It is also flanked by four cannons. | |
