| dc.description | St. Peter's became the first place they were bringing all the emergency equipment. Supplies was piled six feet high all over the pews�bandages, gas masks, boots, hoses and cans of food for the workers and the volunteers, many of whom were sleeping in the church on bedrolls. The body of Father American Franciscan friar and Catholic priest who served as a chaplain to the New York City Fire Department was carried into this church and placed before the altar after it was discovered at the World Trade Center. | |
