Abstract

Description

Published on Mar 1, 2012 Ask the Governor. February 29, 2012 (Transcript Below) Governor Christie: here's the bottom line: when I was elected, on Election Night 2009, you remember Eric I said send me to Trenton now. I'm going to turn Trenton upside down. And people said how are you going to know whether you have or haven't? We now have Democrats arguing with me over which taxes to cut, and by how much. This is the same crew that raised taxes and fees 115 times in the eight years before I got here. So we turned Trenton upside down from tax raisers"now all of a sudden they want to be tax cutters. We've already won the argument Eric. Now we're just arguing over the details and I'm happy to engage in that argument. I believe a 10% income tax cut, where everybody in New Jersey who works gets a tax cut is not a gimmick. It's giving everybody something, and all the other plans they talk about will exclude folks and I think it's time to give everybody some tax relief.
