The Office of Record Access (ORA) within the NJ Dept. of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) receives all Open Public Record Act (OPRA) record requests, determines whether a request is complete, assigns requests to the appropriate NJDEP Programs, coordinates the processing of record requests, makes policy/legal determinations, notifies requesters of the outcome of requests, and makes arrangements for access to the responsive records.

ORA also provides efficient access to the Site Remediation & Waste Management Program’s government records in response to Public, State, Federal or internal government record requests. In addition, ORA coordinates the processing of bankruptcy notices and the filing of claims.
