This series of training workshops in supervisory skills has been serving the New Jersey library community for over 15 years. Geared towards library staff who are currently supervisors and have less than five years of supervisory experience. (More experienced supervisors are welcome, if this is their first supervisory training.) The four week series will begin April 4 and be held at the Monroe Public Library. Space is limited to 30 participants. Deadline is March 6.

The NJ State Library sponsored a full day training by Flow Circus on Jan. 12 for teen public librarians or staff who work with teens that introduced them to manipulating skill toys - actual fun toys that many of them may remember playing with as children - before the advent of mobile devices with games and apps.

ALA's Great Stories Club is offering an expansion of its work through the Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation Great Stories Club Pilot. This is a thematic reading and discussion program series that will engage teens who are facing difficult challenges through literature-based library outreach programs. The deadline is February 16.

The current grant cycle for "Digitizing Hidden Special Collections and Archives: Enabling New Scholarship through Increasing Access to Unique Materials" offered by the Council on Library and Information Resources is now open. The deadline is April 3.
